Who it is for
U11 and U13 goaltenders, born 2014 to 2017, in one mixed group.
Skating is the most important skill a goalie has. A goalie who moves well gets set in time, stays square to the puck, and is ready before the shot comes.
Shield Power Skating (PS) builds that movement. Every session works on:
- Skating: strong, efficient movement in and around the crease
- Edge work: sharp, controlled turns, pushes and stops
- Balance: staying steady and in control through every movement
- Puck handling: confidence playing the puck
- Fun skating: creative drills that keep goalies wanting to work
Why it matters
These groups mix U11 and U13 goalies and combine goalie skating with live shots, so the movement they learn is tested right away in game like reps.
How a session runs
Goalies spend about 30 minutes of each session working together on skating and edge work built for goaltenders. For the rest of the session they take shots from players and get direct feedback from the goalie coaches.
Small groups and at least two coaches mean your goalie gets corrected in the moment instead of waiting in a line. We explain what to do and why it works, so the habit holds when they go back to their own team.
Group size: small groups, with at least 2 goalie coaches on the ice.
