The purpose of goalie sessions for U15 goaltenders is to ensure all goaltending techniques are instinctual as this group will start being introduced to more advanced game situation drills with a wide variety of options for players.
The main focus area for the U15 group will be competing and selecting saves during game situation drills while keeping movements controlled at maximal speed. Puck handling is a major part of the game and we want goaltenders to be confident when playing the puck. Being screened means finding the puck through the traffic no matter what and we will ensure goaltenders learn what appropriate techniques need to be applied in these situations.
Sessions will also cover many more themes as the goaltending position is constantly evolving.
