Edge Work/Puck handling Sessions
Four (4) hours will be designated for skating and puck handling. A goalie requires good
footwork to move on time and make the proper save selection. We want Shield goaltenders to become strong skaters and reach their potential. Goaltenders will also work on handling the puck, decision making and playing the puck.
Video Recording and Feedback
Shield Goaltending will record video of each goalie executing drills. We will review content with goalies immediately and/or upload feedback on our App.
- Goalie Classrooms
- Presentations on a variety of topics (mental game, goalie gear, etc.)
- Sense Arena VR technology
- Balance, Speed, Agility Training
- Stretching & Recovery Sessions
Goalie classrooms will focus on new themes each day, including goalie movements, save selections and specific techniques. It will help goaltenders visualize what we will require from them in their on-ice sessions.
